[Diane] “(Once I have) SmartDay on my desktop, iPhone and iPad, do I have to involve iCal at all?  Can I just use the SmartDay calendars? That way I can start fresh and not have all the complications of so many calendars that don’t mean anything.”

Excellent question.

There’s really no need for an external calendar (such as iCal or Google), or an external task list (such as Toodledo), or an external Notes organizer (such as Evernote) – particularly since none of them are integrated with each other, like our apps are. I mean, why keep your events, tasks, and notes all separate? Talk about Total (Cannot) Recall!

The only reason to use an external calendar is if you share calendars with other people.  I share on Google Calendar, so I have my shared Google calendars connected to iCal and from there, they sync automatically with SmartDay. But in the very near future, SmartDay calendars will be able to be shared with any other SmartDay users, and can be made public as well 🙂
