SmartTime uses adaptive logic to look at your appointments, then find time for your tasks. But SmartTime also has many hidden features that some of you may not be aware of.  Here is one that I use to improve my day – read on, or watch the video. At the beginning of your day, switch to Calendar view to see exactly where SmartTime has placed our tasks. Then, drag your tasks to the specific time slots that you would like to work them. SmartTime automatically converts them into Events.

Alerts with Snooze keep you on Task

You can even set alerts to remind you when to move on to the next task, and the alerts now have a Snooze option.

Google helps you to Archive

When your day is done, synchronize with Google Calendar.  You can use this as an archive to look back and see when you completed each and every task.  Google’s “Agenda” view is particularly useful for this as you can use their Search feature to filter.

Left Coast Logic is headquartered on a small island just 30 minutes from Seattle by comfortable ferry.  Indeed half the population seems to work in downtown Seattle and the other half commute by bike to other parts of the city.

Here on Bainbridge, we have extraordinary views. To the southeast is Mt. Rainier, and to the west are the towering peaks of the Olympic Peninsula. This photo was taken from the Treehouse cafe, where I often go for lunch.

Bainbridge is a haven for cyclists.  One of the most popular rides takes place every February and is called the “Chilly Hilly.”  I think the name is self-descriptive.  This photo is taken from the offices of Left Coast Logic.

It rarely snows on Bainbridge, although we can see snow year ’round on the mountains.  Indeed, the country’s only rain forest is located just two hours from here on the peninsula.

Winter storms are part of life here, but they tend to bring wind and fog more than snow and sleet. It makes for great mystery book reading by the fireplace, coffee sipping, and evenings at the Buratta Bistro warming up with Osso Bucco and a deep Syrah from “up the Columbia” or “down the Willamette.”

In the summer, the kids ride their bikes off this pier for kicks. In the winter, it’s a fine place to fish.  Just a few steps from our office.

Winter starts with Homecoming. Although Bainbridge is a small island, sports here are a large part of life.  And if the team is doing well, it’s pretty much the main source of entertainment “on island.”  Of course, at the other end of the ferry, the Seahawks, Sounders and Mariners are just a few blocks away.
