When you start SmartNotes the first time, you will see a very simple and elegant design.   Besides the top and bottom navigation bars – you will see in the main portion of the app a wood-colored desktop.  This represents your “desk” – and this is where you can begin to add your personal notes and todo’s.

At the top left you will see the quick-note.  When you single tap on this quick-note – it will pull up the keyboard and allow you to start entering the text to the note immediately.

when you start typing in your text – you will see the text appear directly in the note.  This is our visual feature to help you directly see your text inside the note on the desktop.  But, if you need more space to type – we have plenty of room for you to do that in  the detailed-view – which we show later in this tutorial.

After you have finished typing your note text, press the “Done” button.  You will now see the note be inserted into your desktop (it will be inserted at the top just to the right of the quick-note).  Each note is inserted always at the top as you enter new notes.

Also notice that your new note has a blue ribbon on the top right side of it.  This ribbon indicates that the note belongs to a project and be default when you create a new note – it will also take a default project.  You can easily change what the default project is in the settings section – which we will cover later in this tutorial.
