Open Appointments

This may be answered in our other thread regarding different hours of work each day, but here goes: My wife, mom, and I share calendars through Google so we can coordinate child care. If I put my work schedule in as 6a-2p and that is also the time constraint for my work context, ST assumes I have no time in my day to accomplish any tasks. Many calendars offer different types of appointments, such as busy, out of office, and free. Would there be a way to tell ST that calendar X is the work day and to fill in tasks in the work day based on that calendar?

Hi Scott,
Events (Calendar items) in SmartTime are not dependent upon the Work or Home hours that you set in Settings; those are just used by SmartTime to automatically schedule tasks in.

But doesn't ST take into account the appointments and deduct that time from your "work day" availability of time for tasks?

Hi Scott,

Now I understand your issue.  You have calendars that you would like not exclude from the timeline for the purpose of calculating free time for tasks. Is that correct?  If so, we are aware of this but it has not been a major request.  I suggest you put as a request in our Feature Suggestions board, and let's see what the response is.
