Announcing the release of SmartDay, an integrated calendar that automatically schedules tasks into the free time in one’s day. SmartDay offers a unique approach to productivity by combining projects, tasks, and appointments all in the same view. A free web version connects SmartDay to its iPad companion, SmartPad, and to an upcoming iPhone version, allowing users to stay organized on multiple computers and devices. SmartDay debuted at 23 in the productivity section of the Mac App Store.

Beauty in Simplicity

SmartDay was inspired by Steve Jobs’ obsession with zen and simple design: it drops down from the top menu bar on your Mac into a minimalist column of focused information, and can dock unobtrusively to either side of the desktop. The design allows you to stay on task while minimizing desktop clutter and maximizing the space available for other critical software applications. A full-featured task and project manager folds out into a second column and features pre-set “smart” filters for increased efficiency and clarity.

Discrete but instantly available

SmartDay can be pinned to the front of your desktop, or it can drop back then pop-up instantly in the same docking location, so there’s no need to go searching across a cluttered desktop to find an appointment or to see what’s up next.

Connected

SmartDay syncs with mySmartDay.com, the company’s free Cloud hub and organizer that also connects to their flagship iPad organizer, SmartPad, and to an iPhone version to be released in July. It also syncs both events and reminders directly with iCal, providing connectivity to external calendars such as iCloud, BusyCal, Exchange, Outlook and Google.

“SmartDay is our first Mac app and represents the culmination of four years of successful participation in the iOS app space,” says Michael Jardine, Managing Director of Left Coast Logic. “But our plans for revolutionizing productivity are only just beginning. In the very next versions – due later this summer – we will introduce an integrated Notes system with contextual links between all items. In the Fall, we’ll add drag-and-drop contact management.”

System Requirements:
* OS X 10.7 or later
* 64-bit processor
