These seven short clips illustrate the main features of SmartDay – and why it’s like no other organizer.

Creating New Events in iCal or SmartDay

You can create new Events in either iCal or in SmartDay, and you will see them immediately in the other.  In SmartDay, note that Events created in calendars that start with “R” will not be sync’d because iCal recognizes these as “Reminder” type categories.

Creating New Reminders in iCal or Tasks in SmartDay

You can create Reminders in iCal and you’ll see them immediately as Tasks in SmartDay, and vice-versa. Note how they automatically populate the current day calendar. This video clip also shows how you can change the duration of tasks simply by dragging the edge in the calendar; you can also change your working hours to allow more or less tasks to flow into the calendar from your task list.

Organizing Your Task List

Organize your tasks by drag and drop. The “Do Today” box shows which tasks fit into today. You can also drag tasks into the “Mini Month” calendar to assign or change deadlines.

Using Smart Filters

SmartDay offers a variety of “Smart” filters to help you focus only what you need to get done.  Here are a few.

Using The Integrated Calendar

In the SmartDay Calendar, it’s easy to change the duration of any item just by dragging its edge. You can also convert any Task into a time-specific Event by dragging it over to the time-line. You can even convert an Event into a flexible Task by dragging it to the right-side of the Calendar.

Adjusting Your Working Hours

You can drag the shaded area in the Day Calendar to adjust how many hours you wish to work. Notice how more, or less, Tasks flow into the integrated calendar based upon your working hours.

Using Context Tags

Context Tags are an excellent way to search, view, and filter groups of items – for example, “Home” or “Office.”  In SmartDay, Context Tags are just one click away.
