Not your average calendar…
Sure you can use it as a Calendar; it synchronizes directly with your iPhone Calendar. The first thing you see is a full-page calendar that resembles your iPhone Calendar. But wait. You can see an entire week at the top of the page. Drag it down – you can see an entire month, right inside your day calendar! That’s called the Thumb Planner. Drag and drop to plan. All at the tip of your finger. Or thumb.
Certainly not your average list…
Sure, you can use it as a Task list; just tap on the “tasks” icon to go to the Task view. Tasks synchronize directly with Toodledo, the free online task list. But wait. The list shows which of your tasks fit into each day of your week, for the entire week – even taking into account your meetings! SmartCal looks at the free time inbetween your appointments, and finds the time for your tasks. One-tap filters organize your tasks for you. And it’s only just the beginning…
Appointments and To Do’s, Integreated. Really.
So we have a Smart Calendar and a Smart Task list. Now get this: SmartCal actually takes your Tasks, and places them IN your calendar FOR you. Now you see not only all of your schedules appointments, meetings and classes – but also your to-do’s. It’s all there – in one view. Integrated. Just like your day.
Smarter Projects, too: Big, Small, Normal, List…
Need to get organized? You can create Projects that are categories for everything that you need to do, and you can drop tasks into them. You can even create simple repeating check-lists, like your grocery shopping list or your packing list. But wait. SmartCal automatically takes the top task from each Project, and places it into your Task List. Mark it as “done” and the next one flows in automatically! GTD-style Contexts manage all of your groups, with just one tap. Sweet!
Sync Tasks and Events
SmartCal uses the iPhone calendar for its data and syncs calendars directly to it. This has two advantages:
- You can sync when your iPhone is not connected to the internet. It is fast and stable.
- Your iPhone calendar can sync to iCal, Exchange, Mobile Me, Google, Yahoo and other calendars.
SmartCal also syncs tasks to Toodledo, the free online task list. We chose Toodleo as our sync partner because:
- Toodledo is free
- You can sync Tasks from Outlook and other task managers, to Toodledo
