Upgrade Now

Recently we released SmartDay for iPhone.  It features the same SmartTime™  logic as SmartCal, but is has many new features including integrated notes and direct sync to our other SmartDay apps (SmartDay for Mac and SmartPad), via mySmartDay.com.  Now you can sync all of your data – projects, notes, tasks and events – including your tags and sort priorities, between all of your SmartDay apps.  And, you can view and use SmartDay on our free browser-based app, mySmartDay.com – even on a PC!

You can continue to use SmartCal, although we will not be supporting it beyond iOS6.

If you have SmartCal and have upgraded to SmartDay, or are considering to do so, here is how to migrate your data across.

First on SmartCal…

First, on SmartCal, go to Settings, and enable Event Sync and Toodledo Sync.

Events

Just sync with the iPhone Calendar.  Then, open SmartDay and sync that with the iPhone calendar. All of your events will come in.

Tasks

On SmartCal, sync your tasks with Toodledo.  If you are not currently using Toodledo, you can sign up for a free Toodledo account from within SmartCal.

…then on SmartDay

Then, on SmartDay, go to Settings -> Synchronization.   Flip “Enable” to “On”, as shown at left.  Flip the other switches as shown – mySmartDay.com = OFF, Toodledo = ON, and iOS Cal = ON.  For Toodledo, sign in with the account that you used above with SmartCal.

Then save and go to the  main view in SmartDay, shown below.  From the action menu, select “Sync”.  All of your Calendar data should come in from your iPhone Calendar, and your Tasks sould come in from Toodledo.

Next, disable those and enable sync with mySmartDay.com.  If you do not already have a free account with mySmartDay, you can create one from the page shown here.

Already have SmartPad?

SmartPad

If you have SmartPad and are sharing data with SmartCal via their device Calendars and via Toodledo, then you may not need to migrate your data from SmartCal since SmartPad already syncs directly with mySmartDay.com. In that case, just sync your data from SmartPad to mySmartDay.com, then sync SmartDay iPhone to mySmartDay.com.  If you wish to replace the sample database that is on SmartDay, you may wish to perform a one-way sync from mySmartDay.com to SmartDay, as shown here.
