In portrait mode, the app also features comprehensive weekly and monthly views. This release is primarily intended for iPhone and iPod Touch devices, but the developer has plans to release an even more advanced version specifically for iPad in the coming months.

Before SmartTime, busy iPhone users were forced to switch back and forth between their appointments and their tasks to plan their day. With SmartTime 4.0.2, the app does the planning for them and puts their entire day in one integrated view. By having all of their information on one screen, users can see their entire day at a glance. If they want to have a little more control over their schedule, the integrated view is quick and easy to edit. Tasks can be moved with a simple drag and drop gesture, and when they move one task, the app automatically rearranges all the others to fill in the gaps. By tapping an appointment, the user can dial direct, send a quick SMS, or see the appointment location on Google Maps without leaving the app.
Users can enter their tasks into 12 customizable Project Categories. Tasks are color coded by Project Category for easy recognition. Flipping the device to Landscape orientation brings up the week view, where users can see their color coded tasks for the entire week. To see more detail, they can tap any day to enlarge it, or tap the month to see even further into the future. If they find they have too much on their plate, users can also share SmartTasks via email with other SmartTime users right from the app.
Local notifications allow SmartTime 4.0.2 to send pop-up alerts when the user is nearing an appointment time or a task is coming due.
